Approximately 18% of Britons believe that haggis is a "hilltop dwelling animal," while another 15% believe that it is a Scottish musical instrument. An additional 4% said it is a character from the Harry Potter series of novels/films. About one in seven (14%) of the 781 Scottish people surveyed said they were unfamiliar with the term "haggis."
