According to a survey of 576 people (survey method not revealed), 82% of respondents believe the government should register the paternity and maternity of bred animals; 81% think basic training should be given to pet shop workers and 83% want the government to grade pet stores.
In a previous survey by this same group, about one-half of the 200 respondents obtained their pets from pet shops and 30% of those pets developed health problems within the first week after purchase.
