Short Description:
A 2010 survey by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) finds that the overwhelming majority of British adults remain opposed to wearing fur; 95% of the people surveyed said they would refuse to wear real fur, and nearly as many believe that all fur products should be labeled as 'real' or 'fake.'
Abstract:
These survey findings show that 93% of people polled in Great Britain feel that all fur products should be labeled as either 'real' or 'fake' fur, and more than half said they would not buy the product if it wasn't labeled so.
According to these findings, British consumers also support higher welfare eggs; 50% of the eggs produces in the United Kingdom are now produced by cage-free hens, which is a 5% increase from the 45% produced from cage-free hens in 2009. However, even with this growth, estimates show that about 17 million hens are still kept in cages with restricted movement.
