HRC provides animal advocates access to a vast database of research results through our sister website, HumaneSpot.org. Advocates are able to search and review hundreds of secondary studies and dozens of full research reports produced by HRC. See below for a list of full research reports currently hosted on HumaneSpot.org, and sign up for access today.

by
These results from Wave 3 of the Humane Research Council's annual survey of U.S. adults regarding attitudes and behavior toward animals shows strong support for the protection of all animals, but knowledge of some animal issues remains low and the perceived impact of animal advocates is modest.

by
This report summarizes results from Wave 2 of the Animal Tracker annual survey of U.S. adults regarding attitudes and behavior toward animals. The first survey (Wave 1, 2008) included sixteen questions; the Wave 2 survey repeated six questions from Wave 1. In summary, the most recent survey continues to show strong support for the protection of all animals, although in some instances that support decreased slightly compared with the Wave 1 results.

The Animal Tracker (Wave 1 - June 2008)

by
This report summarizes results from Wave 1 of the Humane Research Council's "Animal Tracker" survey of U.S. adults regarding their attitudes and behavior toward animals. This inaugural survey of 16 core questions shows strong support for the protection of all animals. The strength of that support varies by situation and species, however, and actual behavior does not always reflect the favorable attitudes identified.

U.S. Public Opinion About the Animal Protection Movement

by
A 2004 study sponsored by the National Council for Animal Protection (formerly Summit for the Animals). This research was based on a comprehensive survey providing a detailed overview of public opinion regarding the animal protection movement. The research was presented at the 2005 Summit for the Animals meeting and is available only to current members of the National Council for Animal Protection.

Metro New York City Opinion Survey

by
Examines opinions regarding buying and wearing garments made entirely of and trimmed with fur, as well as agreement or disagreement with positioning statements related to fur. This was a follow-up survey to The Fund for Animal's 2003/2004 anti-fur advertising campaign in New York City.

More Research Results from HRC

We also provide limited results through our series of case studies that demonstrate the use of research to improve animal advocacy efforts. See the available case studies (full access is limited to HumaneSpot.org registered users).

HRC also proposes new studies and leads research efforts on behalf of syndicates formed by animal protection groups. These syndicates provide a way for groups to share research costs and results, opening the door for even small organizations to participate. See our list of proposed and past syndicated studies.
